Our product is a modern Flat Power Transmission Belt which offers a compact and efficient drive for a wide range of machinery. Our flat belts are of the composite type, that is, their core is made of a high strength and elastic modulus material and their drive surface is made of another material selected for its high coefficient of friction and wear resistance.
-
1. The main advantages of our composite flat belts are :
- Properly oriented and stabilised nylon core used which permits considerable torque transmission without permanent stretch. Once initial tension is set correctly after initial running - i.e. elongation has taken place, the belt will not require periodic retensioning as in the case of conventional leather, fabric and rubber belting (symbolising the principle of Fit and Forget).
- A variety of friction covers can be used to give optimum friction and wear characteristics for a particular service condition and working environment. This ensures long service life with consistent performance for every type of application.
- Highly favourable strength to weight ratio and small thickness minimises the effect of centrifugal force as compared to V‑ belts. This allows higher operating speeds, thereby permitting more compact drives.
- Owing to good flexibility, there is little power loss due to bending hysterisis and wedging compared to a V-belt, and hence high power transmission efficiency of 97 -98% is achievable. There is also negligible pulley wear compared to V-belts.
- Flat belts can be easily cut to required width and spliced thus ensuring easy adaptability. Nylon is unique in that it can be adhesively bonded to give nearly 100% joint efficiency and flexibility.
- Our product range today covers the following:
- Power transmission belts with leather drive surfaces.
- Power transmission belts with rubber drive surfaces.
- Tangential drive belts with rubber drive surfaces.
- Spindle drive belts with rubber drive surfaces.
